This video was made using "Playback"-Tools. Most other Minecraft TASes are currently made using "Non-Playback"-Tools such as LoTAS (curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/lotas). With these tools, you need to slow down the game, record your speedrun in slow motion, then speed it up using video editing.
"Playback"-Tools however come close to the "classic" approach to Minecraft TASing, meaning the inputs you entered on your keyboard are stored and can be played back to achieve the same run.
Up to recently (like a day ago) playback had a critical issue, that is RNG. Minecraft was indeterministic, meaning mob drops and all other RNG was unpredictable, which can easily desync your TAS. This was finally fixed with an unhealthy amount of modifying game files (around 400 Mixin Classes) and a lot of ragequits.
**Goal of this map**
As I previously mentioned in this video youtube.com/watch?v=AG7sUZWacr0 , this map simulates creating an end portal, when you press a button. The amount of eyes in the portal are counted. The run ends when reaching 100 or more eyes. speedrun.com/findseed?h=100_Eyes&x=9kvole82
**How did you get a 12 eye?**
RNG seeds can be reverse engineered with a lot of maths... I used a tool called LattiCG (github.com/mjtb49/LattiCG) to find suitable 12 eye seeds for this map. Then I set it to be appearing roughly 200 ticks in the future... Meaning if I press the button at tick 200 it will be a 12 eye. That it's exactly 100 eyes was pure chance... I redid the entire TAS multiple times and this happened to be it...
The map is completely unmodified... The game is NOT...

I slowed the game down with a minecraft mod called Tickrate Changer to 1/5 of the actual game time. Everything is slowed down ingame except for mouse movement, enchanting glimmer and the achievement message in the top right... I recorded the map and sped the video footage up 5 times, so hats why mouse movement & crafting is so fast.
(And yes I made many mistakes, dont take it too seriously)

I slowed the game down with a minecraft mod called Tickrate Changer to 1/10 of the actual game time. Everything is slowed down ingame except for mouse movement, enchanting glimmer and the achievement message in the top right... I recorded the map and sped the video footage up 10 times, so thats why mouse movement & crafting is so fast.
Savestates are done with saving and quitting. When you copy the world files, you get an exact copy of your world. There are mods and plugins which do the same thing, but they are kinda slow to use... Saving and quitting take approximately 5-20 seconds
Oh yeah and the clips are then cut together in an editing program
(And yes I made many mistakes, dont take it too seriously)
