Code Name: Viper is a side-scrolling action game programmed by Arc System Works and released by Capcom in 1990 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The player takes the role of Kenny Smith, code name "Viper", an agent of the 98th Special Forces. He is assigned by his commander, Director Jones, to investigate a large drug syndicate that covers all of South America. Smith's objective is to rescue a missing agent in each of the syndicate's seven hideouts and uncover clues of the Syndicate's true mastermind, all while wearing flesh-colored pants apparently.

This is the much-awaited new fast completion (TAS) of Rockman 2, which took almost a year to make.
The movie was played originally by Morimoto ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Morimoto ), until finalfighter ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/finalfighter ) took over and replayed a few of the earlier levels and completed the Wily levels on his own.
Timewise, this movie is almost 3 minutes faster than the previous version. It involves tons of glitches that have been precisely calculated in order to attain the fastest possible completion time. There are many more glitches / tricks in the game than are utilized in this movie, but most of them are slow and not worth performing in a run aiming for speed.

Castlevania: Dracula X (1995), released in Japan as Akumajō Dracula XX, is actually a toned-down remake of a PC Engine title known as Rondo of Blood ( https://tasvideos.org/547G ) (1993). It stars Richter Belmont, supposedly a son of Juste Belmont from Harmony of Dissonance ( https://tasvideos.org/327G ), on a mission to save Annette (said to be his girlfriend) and Maria Renard (a young vampire huntress said to be his girlfriends sister), along with a number of their fellow villagers, from imprisonment by Dracula (said to be the villain) and his minions.
Unfortunately, in this SNES port Richter isnt too much of a fast walker - unlike his father and the later Belmont clan descendants - so his fastest way of moving is constant backflipping (so dont be surprised by the authors choice of traveling method).
This movie is a 00:10.65 second improvement to the previous version ( https://tasvideos.org/1932M ) thanks to new optimizations found over the years.

The Impossible Quiz Book: Chapter 1 is the first chapter of the the third installment of The Impossible Quiz Flash series of logic puzzle games. As with the previous games, you have to solve a series of questions and puzzles by often using unconventional ways of thinking, logic, and deduction. What makes this game different from the other ones is the presence of a story revolving around the The Impossible Quiz Book, which supposedly contains the answers to every question on all the Impossible Quizzes.
For this speedy run, Mikewillplays ( https://tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/Mikewillplays ) decides to play the game at an increased gameplay frame rate of 300 fps, ten times faster than normal, in order to solve questions and button mash certain sequences faster than if the game were to be played at its intended frame rate of 30 fps.
Because YouTube is unable to display videos that are played at above 60 fps, there is an alternate encode that slows down portions of the 300 fps gameplay in order to see parts of the game that would otherwise be missed by a regular 60 fps encode.

Dragons Lair is an FMV game that was animated by Don Bluth and his studio. It was initially released on LaserDisc-based arcade machines and was revolutionary for featuring fully animated cutscenes as part of a video game. In the years to follow, there would be various attempts at porting the game to various video game consoles. Many of them became standard platformers like the NES and SNES version. Some retained the core gameplay and design like the Sega CD and Game Boy Color versions. The Game Boy Color version is unique in that the cutscenes from the original arcade game were faithfully reanimated to fit the consoles limitations. Not all cutscenes were included, however.

DamDam Stompland is a rather unique combat game for the PlayStation that was released only in Japan. The goal of the game is to defeat your opponent by stomping on their shadow in under one minute. Whoever gets three successful stomps before time is up wins the game. There are seven characters to choose from, each with their own unique abilities. Items that spawn on the stage can be used to either aid you in stomping your opponents shadow or to defend your shadow from being stomped. The game appears to have been built around the fact that the PlayStation can render shadows of 3D models in real-time.
