This is the first 510 Stars of a theoretical 999 Stars TAS whose goal is to show the textbox for being unable to buy any more stars. We believe Faire Square is the only way to see this text on the games with a 999 Star cap rather than 99 Stars.

BeastlyN64 originally attempted this at the request of Fir, who made a video about it: youtube.com/watch?v=CjS6pkYV5EM

He only got 919 Stars, but upon seeing the video, I believed that a much better method for trying this would be to make heavy use of Chance Time's Star swap. Rather than try to funnel all resources into one player, this swaps the pool of Stars around to whoever is buying next.

BeastlyN64 took my idea and formulated a brilliant 2-turn loop using only 3 players that obtains 45 Stars:

P1: do whatever, P2: buy 15 Stars, P3: swap P2 and P4, P4: buy 15 Stars
P1: do whatever, P2: swap P4 and P3, P3: buy 15 Stars, P4: swap P3 and P2

This means that 990 Stars would be obtained in 44 turns, making success inevitable, even with some setup turns at the start and end. My plan for the ending, once 999 Stars has been achieved, was to pass everything back to Yoshi, ending him at 999 Stars and 999 Coins, and everyone else at 0.

Unfortunately, due to the loop being horribly boring to TAS, and a lack of motivation to finish it, the project has been abandoned. Beastly helped until about turn 12, and then I gave up at the halfway point.

To help with TASing this, I created a powerful AutoHotkey script that can automate dice block presses, play Money Belt, and help with manipulating/playing Banana Shake: drive.google.com/file/d/1bNdUPKeqH_h_iUshCRVyqJHUIYjJTGQs/view?usp=share_link

And here's the DTM if anyone actually wants to continue the project: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ViSrSN4_CjYtR9DPPjhBtmHE3iRx0OrE?usp=share_link

Possible FAQ:

Why all the pausing during the DK game?
So an A press can be registered every frame instead of every other frame.

Why leave minigame explanations on?
To manipulate the sequences of bananas/hammers, plus time is really not the main goal here.

Why quit to main menu sometimes?
The game keeps track of recently played end-of-turn minigames, but that list is erased on quitting.

Why?
Idk
