Tool-assisted speedrun (TAS) of Marble Madness II Arcade in 9:28 (931,900)
-Timing starts from gaining control of the marble (when the "Time to finish practice" text box disappears) (0:13) and ends the frame that the goal tape goes blue after crossing the finish line on the King of the Mountain level (9:41).
-I disabled the "First-time messages" option in the game menu. This is so as not to waste time on the first level.
-This is my first TAS of this game. I was learning the game at the same time as I was doing the TAS. I'm sure there are many things that can be done to complete the game faster.
-It's far from a perfect speedrun. I didn't beat the best time which is on speedrun.com (youtu.be/UaeFFh-dslU). I watched this video only after completing my TAS.
-There are several shortcuts from this video that I will implement in my next TAS of this game.
-To do a real speedrun I shouldn't have made points in the 3 "Pin Bonus" because we lose a lot of time at the end of the bonus, but it was fun to do.
-I clocked this waste of time at 1:00. If you subtract that from my time, you get 8:28, which is close to 8:20 on speedrun.com.
-I did not saw that Jack Retro did a TAS in 7:55. Good Job, it will be hard to beat. youtu.be/Z404cmPCqgo
-UPDATE: Jack Retro did 1,721,750 in this video: youtu.be/i84Qh3SXg4w which is higher than I would have thought possible. And he (or someone) have found a way to display scores higher than 999,999, very interesting.
-When your marble becomes dizzy, the fastest way to stop this dizziness is to press the button repeatedly. The fastest you can press the button is 20 bps. Faster than that won't work.
-If you don't press the button, the dizziness can last more than 4 seconds (depending on how high you fell). Pressing at 20 bps reduces those 4 seconds to half a second.

This is what we may call a funrun. I try a few things with funny results. I often shoot enemies at the last moment instead of as fast as possible.
Did you know that a zombie can walk without a torso? (5:13)
There are a few places where you can take a break as the game does not attack you. (3:59 5:30)
To play with the alternate graphics, at the stage-select screen, choose the Haunted House stage then pump the shotgun five times before the stage starts.
If I am not mistaken, it is only the zombies in the Haunted House stage that have hats.

Golgo mode
-To trigger GOLGO mode:
-After inserting money, Shoot the center of the 6 characters in the title Golgo 13 (ゴルゴ13) (There are really 5 characters but the ル (ru) need one shot for each branch)
-You should see the title flash briefly.
-Then hold down the zoom button, you should see the title change color and the message Golgo Mode in Japanese below the title.
-Press the 1 player button to start the game while holding the zoom button.
-In this mode you get the stages in random order (except 10 and 20) and there are no cutscenes. The game doesnt even tell you what to shoot since youre supposed to know the game well if you choose this mode.
Stages
-Stage 1 - The land of Sand Dust-fluttering 0:17
-GOAL: Shoot the front tire of the car
-Stage 2 - Night of the Murder Cult 0:42
-GOAL: Shoot Vigram who is a terrorist
-I got 998.2 like in the first game.
-Stage 3 - Trolling Boat 1:17
-GOAL: Shoot mafia boss Fiorio from a boat.
-I could not get a 1000 this time
-Stage 4 - The shoes of the mafia 1:45
-GOAL: Shoot the heel of the right shoe
-I found a 1000 earlier than in my other TAS (1:76 vs 2:35, 2:40)
-Stage 5 - The night before the coup détat 2:11
-GOAL: Shoot officer Grant who is planning a coup détat before he gets on the helicopter
-This time I got a 1000 earlier than in my other TAS (0:86 vs 1:03)
-Stage 6 - Towing rope 2:35
-GOAL: Shoot the Towing Rope
-Stage 7 - The hunting dog 3:04
-GOAL: Shoot the man identified by the dog
-Normally you have to wait for the dog to identify the culprit, but since the culprit is known by the game before the start of the stage, in the TAS I could shoot the right man very early.
-This time (the 4th) I got to shoot another man than the middle one.
-But I could not do better than a 998.2
-Stage 8 - Turf magic 3:31
-GOAL: Shoot the horse with a counteractive drug, so he can pass the doping test after the race
-This time I have found a 1000 earlier (0:91 vs 2:66)
-Stage 9 - Anti Tank Shooting 3:54
-GOAL: Shoot the gun barrel of the tank from the front
-Stage 10 - G Assassination Plan 4:23
-GOAL: Annihilate the guerrilla squad then shoot the helicopter
-I did exactly the same as in my other TAS: 997.8 in 9:88 = $1,998,550
-I dont know why I didnt get the 1000, I didnt miss a shot.
-But there seems to be a problem, the graph at the end shows 22 moves but I only shot 20, maybe thats why I cant get 1000?
-I checked this in 3 other videos on YT and there are also 21-22 shots on the chart (this looks like a bug to me)
-Stage 11 - Semiconductor crisis 5:09
-GOAL: Shoot the man in the blue suit
-I did not find a better spot than 998.2
-For the first time (in 4) the scrolling direction was from right to left.
-Stage 12 - Speakers past 5:36
-GOAL: Shoot Chairman Yoshida from an helicopter
-This time the best I could do is 998.2
-Stage 13 - Blizzard 6:01
-GOAL: Annihilate the National Police Force
-You have to shoot 7 men, you get 1000 points if you didnt miss any shots.
-Stage 14 - The assassination garden 6:31
-GOAL: Shoot the spy, who is one of 4 men
-There are 4 men spread across 4 locations, you need to watch them until you see the spy running with his gun drawn.
-The spy is randomly determined before the screen appears, which is why I didnt need to wait for him to reveal himself before shooting him.
-This time around I got a 1000 😀
-Stage 15 - Cut image G 6:59

The goal is to reach the GIVE UP stage (wave 20).
-You can have 4 bullets on the screen at the same time, but you have to wait 50 frames to shoot again.
-You can shoot the 4 bullets at 30 bullets per second. If it were not for the cool down time, this game would have been too easy.
-If you fly under the 1st mark on the altimeter (at about 1/2 or 3/4) instead of going all the way down, you can shoot the turrets but they cannot shoot you and also you will not collide with them.
-The robot at the end of a stage need 6 hits on the missile to take him down.
-Did you know that if you shoot the planes on the ground you will have less planes to shoot in the space section?
-The first and last wall opening is positioned at random.
-The RNG is dependent of the position of the player. I manipulated the RNG by moving the plane a little before the wall appear so that for the opening was where I wanted it to be.
-The turret after the first small wall is really hard to get. It took me a while to find a pattern to get him.
-This TAS is not perfect, there is some turret that I start shooting only from the wave 10.

As you saw on the other video, I was just a few frames short of getting the turbo on level 49. Now, I have found a way to burn less fuel on level 48 by keeping the inside lane for the first few corners. 😀😀😀

Difficulty Setting: Very Easy.
Note:
-I set the game at Very Easy to have the 65 sec at the start at level 2 instead of 60.
-At the end, I move around because moving gives you points, so I convert the remaining time into points.

-On the first wave, pick up all 10 humanoids (8 or 9 may also work)
-Choose a point on the ground that is very low.
-Stop moving forward
-Put the humanoids on the ground
-Since the humanoids cannot be on top of each other, they will scatter and, if you are low enough, some will appear on the top of the screen. They will slowly move downward.
-You will also see that any enemies on the screen will be teleported elsewhere to reduce the load.")

-All the hidden warp are used. Then I warp to 8-1 to have the best timer bonus at the end (141,000).
-I redid levels 8 9 and 10 to be more cleaner. But I lost 6000 in time bonus, I was not aware that I took so much more time than the other TAS.

-I didnt eat any ghosts or fruits because of the time lost for the animation.
-It took me around 7 hours of work to do this TAS compared to around 24 hours for my other TAS where the goal was to get a high score.
-I did this TAS because I was tired of waiting for the ghosts to regroup while I did the other TAS.
