Uploaded December 2020 | Updated September 2026, 1 day ago
Completed this map in a full day. At first, I was planning to remade the ending of Map 1 to have some shotgun ammo for a more aggressive beginning, but I'm still proud of the result.
I expected to spend more time on monsters in the lake, but they died quicker. Also, infighting really came in handy.
Not that I'm a shotgun master, but the random was so good through the whole map. I somehow managed to deal 100 damage of a shot which was never seen in practice. The random also helped me deal high damage on big distances with little to no input mashing.
And the overall time is really long. My 4 players Co-op TAS was basically a UV-Speed TAS while killing all the monsters. When 1 player has to do everything, that certainly takes much longer (0:23 there vs 0:54 here).
Watch that TAS Co-op here, BTW: youtube.com/watch?v=2hfclj3JaAc

MAP COMMENTS
Map1 - 3 second sounds possible. But i had no luck passing the final imp. There is not enough space to manuever. Maybe avoiding the shotgun might help but i dont see how.
Map2 - I guess 7 seconds is ok.
Map3 - OK run again. 8 should be possible (better spectre handling).
Map4 - I tried hard for 7 but no luck. Also i could not find a way to move through that imp crowd faster. Chainigunner helped a bit too.
Map5 - 4 should be optimal. If that revenant doesnt block your way ;)
Map6 - Even if i cleared that zombie faster, there isnt much difference. 5 tics maybe but thats not enough. Also it asks for monsters to block your way.
Map7 - I saw that 1 seconds was impossible anyway and did not put much effort.
Map8 - Damn that door. This should be optimal. (I hope)
Map9 - Those demons..... I had a really hard time moving through them.
Map10 - OK run. I see here 6 might just be possible but a lot of effort is needed.
Map11 - Wtf? seriously?. I needed 4 tics and I wish those hell knights were facing me ;(.
Map12 - Again 1 second is not possible.
Map13 - 1 second should be possible i guess. But that rev made things harder.
Map14 - I doubt 8 seconds in this map.
Map15 - I doubt 3 seconds here. For that door to open enough (for doomguy to pass) it takes around 4.09 tics or so and you have that active archie. Also this run shows a cool trick imo.
Map16 - Obvious Run. Also Memfiss run was great.
Map17 - 8 might be possible but for me to stay alive in that lift was really hard. So i settled with this.
Map18 - 11 is surely possible. It all depends on that imp crowd. But i had enough of this map after trying a dozen times.
Map19 - again 10 should be possible but i dont get how. I believe ive done everything here. The glide is almost instant. This is one of my quickest glides thanks to bruteforce functionality.
Map20 - Stupid timer. This is unfair. I launch those rockets in the fastest possible manner and still end up 3 tics late?.
Map21 - Nothing. I figured it was just a room with numbers 384 written in it lol.
COMMENTS
Some dumb sort of thing that i decided to do with my limited building skills after gettng a bit bored and taking a break from CyberDreams TAS (watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGrorcsRPwQ).
I wanted to do something short so i picked this wad and it took me just 2 days. It was a bit fun to be honest and i didnt really care much about optimization. Even though i tried really hard in some maps, there was no success and it all depends on how monsters would co-operate. If you consider this run as bad then its not your fault, because thats how it looks on most occasions. Ending a map at .20 centiseconds and not trying to take 10 ticks off might sound lazy but that doesnt mean i did not try. I tried as much as i could and since all maps are limited to 384x384 square and are crowded with monsters there is not enough space to improve most of the time. And the exit door consumes almost 1 and a half seconds on most maps imo. Anyways, if you are the one who enjoys almost every kind of TAS then this is for you.

![[TAS] TMNT 2: Battle Nexus - Episode 11-1 Route Comparison
This video shows a side-by-side comparison of platforming section routes. I decided to check if it makes sense to use the Box Glide route for speedrunning.
Both routes were built frame-by-frame. As you can see, normal route is faster by ~2.4 secs.
Its weird that, in the Box Glide route, the screen doesnt fade out as soon as I reach the lantern light circle. Maybe thats because I break the box with shurikens at the very end and the item should completely fall down before the fading is allowed. Anyway, this time lose is not included.

This map is just a warm-up for a player to get prepared for a maze adventure (a.k.a. Map 2). There is no ammo and the turrets cant be destroyed. I love the way how Obsidian uses silent teleports. It takes a single tic to move you to a different place and you dont even lose momentum.
Im pretty sure its possible to pybass linedefs 2244 and 2250, and get the final room quicker, but regardless of my tries, my dummy gets telefragged and I die. So I had to run around and deactivate the laser gate to get the lift.
The run was made in XDRE 2.20. Not perfect, I wasnt trying that much. Just wanted to make a smooth walkthrough. [TAS] Doom: Maskim Xul - Map 1 UV-Pacifist in 0:55 by Dimon12321](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/C4657msbNAM/mqdefault.jpg)
![[TAS] Eternal Doom - Map 1 UV-Speed in 0:23
During my first attempt, which resulted in et01x047, I gave a try to perform a zero-press on the switch behind the red bars which would be an even better shortcut. Unfortunately, I didnt get a positive result and took red key path, being sure that zero-press is impossible.
After a long while, El Juancho proved its actually possible to perform that zero-press, and I decided to give it another try. After 1 full day of brute forcing, I made it and learned more about this trick.
My main oversight is that if a switch cannot be activated using .000000 trick, then zero-press is impossible. Usually it works if the distance doesnt exceed a specific number of map units, but sometimes it works if your target coordinate (either X or Y, in relation to the switch side) can vary by ±0.01 (yeah, you can do this even while standing slightly behind a switch). It takes 3-4 tics to brute force mashing small numbers of SR and SL.
As I found for the second time, it makes sense to kill the shotgunner (thing 74) and take the gun on your way in, to have your gun ready for removing an obstacle on your way out of the yellow key section. This time I got lucky - nothing was blocking my way on the stairs and I performed a wallrunning trick while in the air.
As a result, I moved from using Andrey Budkos slow-motion TAS, to using ELMLEs red key item grabbing trick, to performing a zero-press discovered by El Juancho.
P.S: the lighting is pretty bad on Software render here. Wish I could switch to OpenGL on VirtualBox. [TAS] Eternal Doom - Map 1 UV-Speed in 0:23](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/C7Yx3JBnG2Y/mqdefault.jpg)
![[TAS] Doom: BTSX Episode 1 - Map 24 NoMo in 1:02
This is a lazy comeback to where it all began. To be precise, to my BTSX E1 D2All TAS which I made in May, 2019 as my first public work on Doom TASing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqzLkr5jMDM
Back then I was an unskilled doomer who discovered certain possibilities of PrBoom+ and wished to surprise the world. I got positive feedback despite all the flaws, but there was a valuable feedback too.
On the same day, Kraflab mentioned the void glide on Map 24, pointed at the right corner which should be used and even disclosed who discovered that trick - Zero-Master.
Since I was a noob, of course, I failed to perform it. Since I was a noname, I decided not to disturb Zero-Master about my problem. As a result, I dropped and left it as is.
In Discord channel, that glide has been being occasionally mentioned by people, but Zero-Master didnt comment on it. On March 13, 2022, Sayeth#9255 asked about that trick and I expressed my willing to perform it if I knew how. On March 29, Zero-Master responded to me and provided the demo how he executed that trick. It turned out, that was done without any rocket launchers or arbitrary boosts, by running into the corner.
So, I performed this void glide by repeating his conditions: I ran along the waterfall wall.
Basically, there is nothing much else to say. I wasnt trying hard to optimize my movement, but momenthum preservations and short wallruns are fine, I think. [TAS] Doom: BTSX Episode 1 - Map 24 NoMo in 1:02](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/CuT--gv9RTQ/mqdefault.jpg)

![[TAS] Bejeweled 3 (DS): Quest Mode 100% in 24:49 by Dimon12321
This is a tool-assisted speedrun (TAS) which completes all quests in Bejeweled 3 on Nintendo DS.
Its rather a low-effort run. When you make a combo, a set of jewels which falls from the top is selected at random, depending on the time moment at which the combo was done. That means, each quest should be heavily bruteforced high and low in order to get the fastest time.

![[TAS] Doom: Demonfear - D2All UV-Speed in 7:02 by Akse
This is an extremely rare TAS made by Akse in 2009. It was made without a demo playback fix for the game WAD. Hence, it plays back without desyncs only on PrBoom+ 2.5.0.2 and 2.5.0.3.
Recorded in window mode because AMD Radeon Software cant record GLBoom+ in full screen. The window size was 1872x1053, bitrate - 100 Mb/s (maximum available). Upscaled to 1440p using VirtualDub.
Original Codec: MPEG-4 AVC1 Main@L5 (53.7 Mb/s)
New Codec: Logarith Loseless OpenDML (1 127 Mb/s) - the overall size was 96,6 GBs.
The quality isnt that good. Switch to 1440p to have good 1080p!
Also, I dont know why GLBoom+ was showing stippling wall textures. The settings were similar to my regular 2.5.1.5. Maybe 2.5.0.3 has some rendering issues.
