Changing leads every lap with a burst pass in tandem trains 3 to 6 cars deep during my Friday night drift livestream! This POV drifting clip features Assetto Corsa for PC with drift mods, including Content Manager, Custom Shaders Patch, SOL Weather, and the World Drift Tour Street car pack. I'm drifting in the WDTS 180SX, along with an R32 Skyline GTST Drift car and a Nissan Silvia S13 Coupe.
We use the Naoki Nakamura style burst pass to change which car is in the lead mid-drift, a "burst pass" is where during a tandem drift, the lead car intentionally goes wide around a turn and allows the chase car to cut inside for a mid-corner pass while both cars stay in drift. It's a very flashy and cool technique pioneered at the Meihan drift track.
In this video I'm using my GoPro POV First Person view cam, and with my 32" curved triple monitors it's almost real--like watching someone drive using VR! Completing my rig is my DIY racing simulator cockpit, DIY triple monitor desk, and of course my Fanatec wheel and pedal kit: The fanatic clubsport v2.5 wheel base is excellent to drift on, and the clubsport pedals, h-pattern shifter, and handbrake make for an amazing sim drifting experience. My elgato streamdeck xl rounds out the setup, enabling me to spin tunes mid-drift to keep the live stream hopping.
