In this video, I review the new Tamron 70–180mm f/2.8 for Nikon Z mount.
It’s an incredible lens — sharp, lightweight, fast, and affordable. But as much as I’ve loved using it, it doesn’t quite fit into my shooting style of woodland photography.

I’ll take you through my real-world impressions of the lens, from autofocus and handling to how it performs in the field. If you shoot portraits, events, or compressed landscapes — you’ll love it. But for slow, atmospheric, intimate woodland work like mine, it might not be the right fit.

Either way, this lens proves that Tamron is really pushing the Nikon Z system forward.
