Pyramid Peak has to be one of the best hikes in Tahoe, if not one of the best hikes in the Desolation Wilderness area of the Eastern Sierra. Our favorite thing about this hike is that it was recommended to us by several of our LiveHardxLoveHard subscribers! Well, it was kind of a recommendation and kind of a challenge - after you all saw us hike the stunningly steep Jake's Peak in Lake Tahoe, you must have known we wouldn't be able to resist the even steeper, more challenging, and more beautiful Pyramid Peak. While this Tahoe hike can be done year-round, we loved getting to do it while there was still snow around for some spring hiking and snowshoeing. We brought the perfect gear on this too - snowshoes for the slushy snow hiking up to about 9000 feet, and microspikes for the final summit push. If you're looking for the perfect hike in the Desolation Wildnerness, or the best snowshoe hike in Tahoe, don't forget about Pyramid Peak :)
