An explanation of this giant redstone contraption will come in the future, but knowing me, this might still take a couple of weeks before that video comes out.
The redstone contraption surely is one of the biggest that I've ever made. The contraption is a whopping 1000 blocks long, which is necessary to predict the location of the incoming missile with enough accuracy.
If you have any questions regarding what this system can and can not do, you can always ask me in the comments.

Some details about the build:
I tried to give the funeral dancers as good of an animation as possible. It is really difficult to actually change the angles of the legs and thus the funeral dancers just 'shuffle around' a bit in stead of actually dancing. Although it looks like the dancers take tiny steps, the feet actually move by 16 blocks each step. This gives an idea of the size of the build.
The footage is sped up 16 times. This is in order to match the pace of the astronomia music and to make the animation more visible. Some parts are a bit slower so you can see the individual parts moving.
The coffin itself is made out of glass. This is not because I think it looks best, but because I can't use solid blocks for lag reasons. The Minecraft lighting engine is extremely laggy, and thus you can't have large opaque moving parts. Hence why I choose for a transparent coffin.

I think I got it just right now, which means that you can put together your own custom quarry. You can change 3 things about the quarry:
1. The height you build the quarry at (I always recommend to build it as close to the ground as possible, but you might want to build it a bit higher if you're afraid that you might run into mountains.
2. The width of the quarry (don't make it too wide though, as it will get slower. I recommend to make it at most 200 blocks wide, if you want to make it even faster, you should build 2 quarries)
3. The mining depth. (You can change the number of times the bores go down by slightly modifying the binary counter.)
This quarry has a few major advantages and disadvantages. I will talk about a few of them, but I'll explain them more thoroughly in a separate video.
Downsides:
1. Doesn't leave nice perimeter (blocks underneath gravel won't be mined)
2. Obsidian can cause bores to loose their heads (doesn't create issues, just reduces rates slightly)
3. Slow (The quarry is just slow)
Upsides:
1. Extremely few resources needed
2. No preparation work required (No need to mine out a space to put the quarry in)
4. Very little lag
3. Mines terracotta in the most optimal way possible (with normal quarries, you need to mine the top 50 blocks of a mesa biome to ensure that you get all the terracotta (terracotta can roughly generate from y=50 - y=100). However, it always will only be the top 16 blocks of the terrain. Since this quarry only mines the top blocks, it only needs activate the bores 16 times per slice, instead of 50 times with normal quarries, so it mines terracotta way more efficient).
There really is a lo to talk about, when it comes to this quarry. I will cover a lot more (dis)advantages for this quarry in another video, as well as why it isn't a problem that the speed of the quarry isn't linear with its width. For now, you just need to know that it's really good for mining terracotta. If you have any questions, you can obviously ask them to me in the comments or via discord.
(my discord tag is Comet107#2540).
World download:
In the world, you'll only find 1 quarry. But as said, its totally doable to use custom 'settings' that perfectly suite your needs. To do this, you first need to download a carpet server (links in sci-crafts discord). After that you should use the command '/carpet FillUpdates false'. Now you can start 'building' your own custom quarry.
Start with the logic segment by using the command /structure load comet-logic## ~ ~ ~ No_mirror Rotate_0 false. On the place of the ##, use the number 8,16,32 64 or 128. This number corresponds to the number of times the bores are send down to pick up blocks. (I recommend using 16 or 32 for mining terracotta).
Next you're gonna build the middle section. For this, find the long bar with glass and red concrete on the ends. Go to the end where the middle section is supposed to be (the end with the endstone platform), and place 1 block next to the concrete. Point at the block you just placed and use the command /structure load comet-middle 'tab' 'tab' 'tab' no_mirror rotate_0 false to load the next section. (press tab to get the coordinates of the block you are pointing at). Again, go to the end of the glass line, place 1 block next to the concrete and repeat this step until you are happy with the width of the quarry. (never use more than ~8 middle segments though).
Of course, you also need to cap the quarry off at the last side. For this, go to the glass line again, place one block next to the red concrete and use the command /structure load comet-end 'tab' 'tab' 'tab' no_mirror rotate_0 false. Now you've got yourself a working quarry. In the last segment you just placed, you'll find a redstone block next to a powered piston (not the pistons on top of the bores, but one slightly to the left). Remove this redstone block and a clock should start running. This starts the quarry.

Hey guys, in this video I talk about some practical uses for xcom's TileTick limit exceeding machine. Applications include returning flying machines, freezing them and making them come to a complete stop.
Although not specifically mentioned, this video can be seen as the follow up/explanation of this video: youtu.be/oWCcK2Atm18
Please note that, although it technically works in vanilla, it will most likely crash the server. I used carpet mod and set the gamerule TileTickLimit to 1000 (the value that it used to be). See above links to Xcom's videos about the Tileticklimit. I only contributed some useful applications of the machine, but all credits for the knowledge about the tileticklimit, as well as how to exceed it go to Xcom. When I contacted him after making this video, he told me that Myren was also manipulating the tiletick limit back in the early days. Hence the links to his channel and video's as well.

The 'news reports' were also a reference to the second missile defence system.
The defence system works by taking control of incoming flying machines. This includes freezing the flying machines midair by making them go back and forth, as well as breaking them completely by stopping them. This theoretically also works in vanilla minecraft, I'll explain how it works in my next video. I actually already made this video, so it shouldn't take too long before I publish that video. (At least it shouldn't take months which is normally the case on my follow-up vids).

This video was a bit... experimental, with some 'weird' music and just a little different from normal. I hope you still enjoyed it though.
1.15 is pretty laggy, and you might be wondering how I managed to film the piston doors without too many rendering issues. The trick I used was carpet mod. Carpet mod allows you to alter the speed of the game. If you record a door when it is running at 5tps (4x slower than normal) and then speed the footage up, it looks waaay smoother. However, this does not work for all sizes. The biggest piston door was so laggy that I needed to pause the game completely to let the rendering engine catch up. I took 60 screenshots during the opening and closing of the door, which created the timelapse at the end of the video.
Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujsCRw-eA0o
World download: mediafire.com/file/uqm57p47kq5bfew/Snapshot1.7z/file
The piston door is flush, meaning that it can't be distinguished from a wall when the door is closed (this is not the case for normal piston doors, you always need some sort of hallway/dent into the wall which unveils the position of the door). Anyway, this door can't be spotted (from both sides!) when it is in a wall.

Hey guys, and welcome to a new video. Today I have quite the contraption to show you: it's a 3 directional y0 bedrock breaker.
Bedrock breakers on flying machines already exist, but previously, these machines only went in a single direction. Consequently, you had to use a lot of machines to clear out a 2d area. For example, scicraft worked on project skyblock, in which they removed a 1000x1000 area of y0 bedrock. For this, they used 200(!) of their 5-wide bedrock breakers, which is quite insane and time consuming. this contraption can replace these 200 bedrock breakers with just 1 machine and therefor save a lot of time.
I did most of the project by myself, but I used 2 small parts that I got from other people. These include the piston layout and wiring for the actual bedrock removing. I got this from Myren Eario, who has done a lot of research on bedrock breaking/headless piston tech. He also was the first person to create a setup that does not delete pistons. I decided to use this setup as it would save hundreds of thousands of pistons. Link to the 1 directional bedrock breaker that he made using this piston-saving layout: youtube.com/watch?v=TAT-f4z5aBY&t=3s
I also want to credit Xcom, for sharing a trick to make 2 headless pistons at almost the same time. Link to his yt channel: youtube.com/user/Xcom6000

Some things I want to clarify that otherwise might lead to confusion:
I will start on the 1000 subs quarry video as soon as possible. I was on holiday to Norway for the last two weeks and I will now go to Montenegro for the next to weeks. In between I had about 2 days to record a video. I simply didn't have enough time to make the quarry video, but I did have enough time to make this video, so here it is. Also, I just found this world again, after I thought that all back-ups were gone and the main world was corrupted, so this was the perfect opportunity to make this video.
Something else: In the teaser video, I showed a gigantic trapdoor, to cover the defence system up. This is a fully functional door, and can be used to open and close. However, the door got messed up during recording, and I'm too lazy to fix it just for this video. If you are interested in this door, just leave a comment and I might do a separate video on the door.
World download: mediafire.com/file/fbdgi6m8d9sdcg4/missile_defence_system_2_0.7z/file
The quarry is resistant to gravel and water, however, it can't pick up the gravel. Blocks underneath gravel are shielded, so you end up with a cool waste-land like terrain with a bunch of tall pillars. Good news: I will make another video on how this quarry works and give you a world download. Bad News: I'll travel to Norway tomorrow and stay there for 2 weeks, after that, I'll travel to Montenegro and stay there for 2,5 weeks. So it might take up to 2 months before I can publish that video :/.
Anyway, I hoped you enjoyed the video. In the pinned comment, I have some timestamps as to what happens where in the video.

World download: I'll give a world download with the next video on this quarry, when I'm back from all holiday trips.
Double stacking means that this farm will stack 2 villages in 1 cycle (basically exceeding the 66sec/village maximum speed). Concentric means that all the villages are stacked in 1 spot. This makes the farm a lot harder, because you do not need to cross the villages paths if you do not make the farm concentric. This is for example what I did with my previous 'double stacking' farm which therefor is not really a double stacking farm in my opinion. That one also was about 10x easier to design.
I did make this video kinda in a rush and therefor forgot some important information that wasn't really told separately in the video/I didn't stress enough.
First of all: The stacking algorithm in this farm is totally new and very effective and can also be applied to bigger iron farms, so iron farmers: take your chance and design farms with it if you haven't been thrown off by the 1.14 changes yet.
Second: the stacking happens in 39 seconds/Village, or 78 per cycle of 2 villages. This is still 12 seconds above the max double stacking speed of 66 sec/33 sec per village, but faster is not obtainable with this method. 39sec/Village is also pretty much faster than any concentric double stacking farm that is released as of May 2019.
Third: the farm actually works in all quadrants. I'm really proud of this since it wasn't easy at all to make it work in all quadrants. Normally the challenge in iron farms isn't as much getting it to work, but mainly getting it to work in all quadrants. For this farm, it was already a challenge to get it to work. Just imagine how difficult it would be to get 1 version of this farm working in all quadrants without any double door registration issues...
fourth: I tried to make the farm as survival friendly as possible: the farm does use 2 sticky pistons in a hopperclock (clock can be replaced by other clocks as long as it is exactly 1560gt), but apart from those sticky pistons, the farm does not use any slime. Also, in 1.13.X you can replace the pistons on the doorwing with waterlogged trapdoors (same way as shown in my 30V iron farm). This means that the raw (uncrafted) materials for this farm pretty much consist out of some wood, blocks and redstone but almost no iron to craft pistons.
Finally: this farm will obviously break in 1.14, like all other traditional iron farms. I do acknowledge the opinion that it might be 'wasted time' to still design iron farms, but I really enjoy designing them, and I will probably continue doing so. I don't think we as iron farm designers should care too much about how often our builds are being built up in survival, and mainly care about the fun that we have while designing the farms. And after all: by the looks of things, the big technical servers definitely stay in 1.12/1.13 so they are still in need of new iron farms :). Therefor I will definitely produce some more iron farms. Also, let us be thankful that we are not forced to update and keep in mind that we can always use that in our advantage if we benefit from it.
Anyway, thank you for watching and reading this story: ~Comet

Both the combo locks were build around a certain challenge: Sethbling only uses old-school mechanics, like (locked) repeaters, redstone and redstone torches. While Mango's lock only uses 'modern' redstone. I just wanted to give this lock a shot without giving myself any restraints and in the video I show what I came up with.
I first didn't really want to release/publish these locks, cause I mean, Sethbling and Mango just made two awesome contraptions, but I also didn't want to not show them at all (sorry for the double negative :p). So I ended up asking Ilmango about it and he said I should definitely publish it. So you can thank him for having this video. Just to clarify, I don't want to show off/challenge/compete with this video in any way, its just that it would be very unfortunate to not show these locks. Anyway, hope you still enjoy this video.

*important* never reset the farm while it is building the villages. If you did this, you'll have to wait until the redstone is done (about 40 minutes after you started the farm) and reset the doors like shown at 39:41. Also never leave the farm while it is resetting, or it will not build correctly.
I got the idea to use waterlogged trapdoors from a Chinese designer:
bilibili.com/video/av37198509
He used it in a very different way: He had the trapdoors 8 blocks to the side of the doors that he wanted to make valid. This resulted in the doorwings sticking out in a weird way. I was able to prevent this by having the water flow in a weird way. It was a bit difficult to understand and I decided to cut it out, for the sake of a bit more fast-paste video. Anyways, I think he is one of the first, if not the first, to use waterlogged trapdoors for skyaccess.
The farm uses a four step reset, which makes the redstone a lot simpler. however, four step resets come with a lot of restrictions, but it turned out to just be possible while still using few satellite doors.
I had to use a lot of weird tricks to get this farm to work: for example, the water takes a few seconds to flow over the doorwing, and the farm will break if the doorwing-villager detects the doors in this time. So that's why the villagers in the glass tubes are moved up and down so much when the farm is resetting (so they can't register the doors in the doorwing when they shoudn't, it isn't just to make the redstone simpler, it actually is needed to make the farm function properly).
The farm and tutorial are inspired by Eta740 iron farm:

Resource list:
4 stacks + 18 redstone dust
26 repeaters
23 comparators
2 observers
26 redstone torches
14 pistons
9 sand
14 hoppers
8 droppers
4 stacks of glass (6 stacks + 38 if you want to surround the spawning pads with glass)
Doors: 10 stacks + 41
Trapdoors: 30 (not needed when using pistons in 1.12)
20,5 stacks of blocks (23 if you surround the spawn pads with normal blocks)
11 stacks of slabs
4-5 stacks of torches to light up the farm
1 ladder
~4 stacks to fill up container blocks
1 button
With 512 villages, the farm produces around 20.000 iron/hour. That is more than 300 stacks of iron ingots, and more than 13 full beacon bases worth of iron every hour.
The farm is self-resetting and does so in the maximum speed for single stacking iron farms, namely 66 seconds per village. This gives the farm a total reset time of 9 hours and 30 minutes. The iron farm will work in any quadrant and is not locational in any way. It obviously is directional like any iron farm.
With only 3 satellites, this farm uses a stunning 5-step reset algorithm. The iron farm is quite simple to build and would be a good choice as an endgame farm for most (technical) servers, because of the scale and simplicity.
The farm will also work in 1.13.1 and 1.13.2.

Again, the iron farm works in all quadrants although I don't recommend to build it on quadrant borders (don't have the farm overlap on x=0 or z=0). I don't think it will cause trouble, but I can't test every possible position, and this iron farm is a lot more fragile than normal iron farms. The farm definitely works in every location that doesnt overlap with a quadrant border.
I tried to keep the advantages of my 192 single stacking iron farm. This means that this farm uses no slime and I also tried to reuse as many villagers as possible.
World download: mediafire.com/file/q74keftyt6gxfeb/Proto_creative_-_168v_double_resetting_2018-11-04_18-39-20.7z/file
I quickly want to compare this type of double stacking to other double stacking farms. First of all, this double stacking is entirely different from the cycling double stacking. The advantage of cycling double stacking is that all the villages are in one spot, and not in two spots like with this farm, but the disadvantage is that it is more complicated and you need to wait with the next cycle until all the satellite doors disconnect. This means that the reset time of these farms often is around the 52 seconds per village which is not that much faster than single stacking.
I hadn't seen any iron farms that uses the concept that I used for this farm, so I asked a bit around, and it turns out that redstone spire made similar farms, but there are some noticeable differences. I won't go into too much detail, but the main difference is that I always store the 2 villages on doors that are registered by the same villager, while his farm has 4(!) villages, but on doors that are not registered by the same villager. This means that the villages can be spread out a bit further, and that the farm is closer to four iron farms shoved into each other in a really really cleaver way, while this farm is more like 1 iron farm that resets two villages. You can't compare the two farms though, because they are a totally different size and spire's farm is definitely way more impressive than this tiny thingy. His video (on bilibili): bilibili.com/video/av2433337?from=search&seid=16555505225883069823
Lastly I want to say a few things about 1.13. Village mechanics did not change in 1.13, except for iron golem spawning. In 1.13.1 you can replace the slabs in the spawning pads for redstone blocks, but this also is no longer possible in 1.13.2. This actually has quite a big impact on iron farms. You can calculate the maximum efficiency of spawning pads if you know the percentage of blocks that are spawnable inside the spawning area. In 1.13.2, at least 1,7 % of the attempts will fail, because you can no longer have enough spawning spaces. But this 1.7% is provided that you don't miss any blocks where golems could drop down. The problem is that you need to move the golems out quickly because otherwise the golem cap would be filled up, for this you need to sacrefise a lot of spawnable blocks, so 1.13.2 farms will probably have around 10% failed attempts, and probably even more for bigger farms. That is why I think it will become more and more improtant to spread out the villages over multiple spawning pads, like I did with this farm.
I still have to design an optimal 1.13.2 spawning pad, but you can use the spawning pad in this world download for now: (the spawning pad is located in a different iron farm, but it will also fit inside this farm) mediafire.com/file/f2b97llkq0tad7b/32-192v_iron_farm_1.13.2.7z/file.
The farm doesn't use any slimeblocks or sticky pistons and also doesn't use any observers. The total amount of villagers for this farm is 12: one villager to create a village, 1 villager on the other end of the farm, two villagers in the doorwings and 8 population villagers. I do recommend to use at least 18 population villagers, or even 28 villagers in case of the 192 village iron farm.
The farm is easy to expand and you can use it with 32, 64, 96, 128, 160 or 192 villages. The smaller versions require less population villagers, I would recommend to use at least 8 villagers for the 32 and 64 farms; 18 population villagers for the 96 and 128 farms; and 28 villagers for the 160 and 192 village farms. This is completely up to you and every size will work with 8 population villagers.
For 1.13.1: I designed this farm in 1.12 because of lag/a lack of villager marker mods. The mechanics did not change and this farm will work in 1.13.1, but you might need to swap the slabs in the spawning pads for redstone blocks. I might look into good 1.13.1 spawning pads.

It was a long long journey to come to this point, but it is finally finished! The lightning fast quarry is done and ready to be used in survival. This project took me probably well over a 100 hours and in total took even more man-hours, but it is well worth it. The quarry is both 'simple' and fast. I want to thanks 2no2name, Xcom, Rays and Pingu for helping me. The basic concept is mine, and I worked on it a lot in the start, I mainly got a lot of help in when refining the project. It would be possible to make the quarry faster by not using a flying machine to push the block grabber into the stone. There were some people saying I should do this, but IMO this is not worth it. It would shave of 40 seconds per layer. This means that you finish 3000 blocks in 5 days in stead of in 7 days. It might be nice that you save two days, but it would take more then 48 man-hours to build a quarry that would push the block grabbers into the stone instantly (at least if you use a decent size version). Also, it is probably impossible to prepare the needed area for the quarry (5 blocks at the bottom, strips on both sides, remove immovable blocks, etc) at the same speed as the quarry is moving. This also makes it kinda pointless to make the quarry faster if this means more build effort.
Some earlier overworld quarries, which I kinda used for inspiration:

Something to mention about the video: it does not look like the TNT blew up the missiles. This is because the replay mod only renders explosion within a certain range of the player. The canon shot simply too far to be within this range.

I cover some useful, small and easy to build tunnel bores in today's video. The main use for the bores is gathering ores. They have an activation mechanism on both sides and the bore moves forward one time when you flick the trapdoors. This makes the bore ideal for gathering ores. I used the bore to gather a lot of emeralds and it is definitely reliable to use. Just on thing you have to keep in mind is that you also need to remove big gravel patches.

Today, I show some more realistic minecraft robot legs. The difference with old robot legs is that the entire leg moves forward, from the top at the hips to the feet. This is of course not very realistic and would result in dislocated hips. Therefor, I made legs that are moving forward in a different way, first the feet are moved, while the hips stay in the same position, which basically means that the leg goes from leaning forward, to leaning backward. Then the top is moved to get the leg in the old position. It is far from perfect, but I am still working on it.

Hey guys, In this video I show a missile defence system build to shoot all missiles above the pistons to pieces. Keep in mind that it relies on a lot of randomness of the daylight sensors detecting the flying machines and that it might happen that a flying machine is not detected. I tried to make this chance as small as possible, but can't test out all possible missiles.

In this video, I'll show a simple floor builder. It is capable of placing slime blocks, TNT, and even immovable blocks. I came up with the concept after SPB11 asked me to help with a floor builder that places blocks between the first layer of the bedrock. He helped out with various parts including the start stop mechanism and the item supply system. He has a YouTube channel himself where he has posted some impressive builds, Check him out here:

In this video, I show a fast sea pickle farm. It produces around 350.000 items per hour. I doubt anyone is ever going to need this many pickles, so it might be worth it to go for a design that is a bit more bone meal efficient, but I thought I would share the concept.
I am sorry for the low resolution. My PC does not seem to like the snapshots and with higher resolutions, the frames would drastically drop. I tried to keep the video a bit short so it is not too apparent and not too bothering.

In this video, I'll showcase a new tunnel bore design. Lately, I've worked a lot on tunnel bores and especially, the expandable ones. This is a prototype though and this video is mainly to show what you can expect in future video's. There are a few things going to change about the design I showed in the video. First of all, I accidentally filmed on the wrong backup. This means that in the final version, the bores will be one block higher. This is to deal with gravel. Also, I want to redesign the TNT chamber completely. The TNT chamber in this video was build very hasty so I could show the more important stuff. This however means that the TNT chamber is not a hundred percent reliable. This is because the TNT was spaced out to far, but I was to lazy to change it :D.
Over the next couple weeks, I'll make some videos showcasing the design process as well as all the parts. In this small series, other designs will be showed as well. I for example have designs where the unloading time does not depend on the with and some other interesting things as well.

recently, I have worked on these stupid, but definitely cool piston doors. They use a chain of piston worms, which makes this door infinitely extendable downwards. however, for each two blocks you want to go down, six blocks get added to the side (three to each side). The doors all are one block wide and use no slime blocks.
I hope you enjoy the video, and see you next time!

Ilmango showed us a new concept recently: A door with as input a note block in the middle. He asked us if we could compact the door, so I tried. I am not very good at piston doors so there are other designs smaller, but I think my door has a nice relation between size and looks, meaning the opening and closing look quite nice.

In this video, I show you a new iron farm. I designed it because I was not content with the other iron farm. It was not expendable and I think that that is quite important.
I think the farm only works in the Minecraft version 1.12, but it may also work in earlier versions. Lastly, if you are on a spiggot server, it should work when you put the outer villagers in minecarts and afk in the middle.
It did not take too long to make, but then I caught a really bad flu and had to stay in bed for almost a week, that is why it might have taken a bit longer to upload.

I show a new tunnelbore design. Most tunnelbore designs have some big floors, They can not handle water/lava or they do not fly onder y=10 (obsidian). Above y=10, there is a lot of water and lava, this can create new blocks and break the machine. My design solves all the problems. Thanks to Emeraldfyr3's tunnelbore, I was able to modefy it to work under y=10. The unload station is also very small. You mine the blocks yourself and are able to make big profit from it.
