Arm's new AGI CPU is one of the most complex chips ever built, according to Ravi Subramanian, chief product management officer at Synopsys, who spoke to EE Times' Nitin Dahad at the Arm Everywhere conference in San Francisco in March 2026.
He told EE Times that Arm and Synopsys collaborated closely to optimize the power, performance, and efficiency of the AGI CPU, built on Arm Neoverse® CSS V3. Each Arm AGI CPU is based on up to 136 Arm Neoverse V3 cores, which according to Arm delivers leading performance per core, SoC, blade and rack, with 6GB/s memory bandwidth per core at sub-100ns latency.
In this video conversation Ravi Subramanian explains what's involved in developing such the complex Arm AGI CPU chip, and how Synopsys design, IP and advanced verification solutions played a key role in delivering this chip.
