In this video I talk about sword fighting basics: 4 different types of grips for a one-handed sword (arming sword or sidesword does not matter) and what their pros and cons are. These are presented to us by Federico Ghisliero, a bolognese fencer & soldier. In modern terms, we are speaking about:
- the thumb grip
- the palm down grip
- the hammer grip & handshake grip
- and index finger over the cross.
