Secret Elephant Sanctuary outside of Chiang Mai in Thailand.
Ethical elephant sanctuaries in Thailand, are the only type of elephant attraction that you should visit while traveling, because there are some ‘sanctuaries’ that are questionable in their treatment of the elephants. With the growth of ethical tourism and an increased awareness of animal cruelty, many travelers are looking to sanctuaries for their elephant experience.

We were picked up at our hotel in Chiang Mai at 7.30am. We traveled to Secret Elepahnt Sanctuary. It took one and a half hours to arrive at the elephant park. We prepared food for feeding the elephants. First, we washed the fruits off in case there was any chemicals on them. We washed the bunches of bananas and sugar cane off in the water before feeding them to the elephants.
We enjoyed having a mud spa with the elephants. After that we followed the elephants to the nature pool in the river stream from the mountain.
The elephants are treated very well and the baby Malee is so cute. You get to feed them, walk with them then bathe with the elephants in the waterfall. It was such a magical experience.
