The serious side of writing comedy for children, or how to write jokes about divorce; death; and the impending climate armageddon.
This panel, hosted by the world’s oldest child – comedian Tiernan Douieb – tackles two tricky subjects in one: making children laugh and informing them that we’ve ruined the planet and they’ll have to find somewhere new to live. Featuring luminaries from the world of TV production, publishing, writing and a doctor of climate science who’s also a stand up comedian (yes, we found the one) we’ll look at how comedy can not only soften the blow of even the most serious subject matters, but also be a valuable educational tool. If we are indeed all going to die, we may as well learn how to laugh about it.
