My student Smt. Sushma Udupa, reciting a traditional Bala Varase (Beginner Exercise) in Tala Avadhana i.e. Adi Tala in right hand & Khandachapu Tala in left hand. Look closely, she is also interchanging Tala between the hands.
Smt. Sushma Udupa is from Kundapura - Karnataka, currently residing in Trondheim - Norway. She is trained in Bharatanatyam, under the tutelage of Vidushi Smt. Kamala Bhat and has been learning Carnatic vocal music under the able guidance of Vidushi Smt. Jayamani Narasimhan. She is being trained in Nattuvangam under the guidance of Kalamandalam Smt. Karthika Harikrishnan. And she works towards familiarising these art forms in Norway.
