This video is not a self-defense tutorial and not a demonstration of “perfect techniques”.
This is a personal experiment.
In each test I face a knife attacker while holding a different item:
empty hands, backpack, brick, chain, and baton.
The goal was never to “win”.
The goal was to survive, keep distance, and look for one clean opportunity — knowing that in real life, the attacker usually acts first and you react late.
All rounds were done as controlled sparring, not choreographed drills.
The attacker was actively trying to land hits, not cooperating for the camera.
What I learned:
Holding an object doesn’t remove the danger — it changes the situation.
Sometimes it buys time. Sometimes it creates new problems.
This video doesn’t prove what is “best” or “worst”.
It shows what happens when ideas meet pressure.
I’m not a self-defense instructor.
This is simply how I test things for myself from time to time.
If something doesn’t work under controlled aggression,
think twice before trusting it in chaos.
Train smart.
Break the myths.
