The Empty Quarter is the largest continuous desert in the world covering over 650,000 km² in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Oman. This hyper-arid desert sees less than 50 millimetres of rain per year making surviving there extremely difficult.
Today, we drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi to experience the Rub' al Khali desert and see if we can survive there for 24 hours without any real training and very basic equipment.
