I took my friend out fishing, He's had a string of strokes and can't get around but there was a time he and I fished from Mexica to Ventura, lakes streams, ocean, rivers and anything else we could. It is hard to see him struggling to do things that were for decades second nature. But if he stops, he loses even more. I arranged for a few others to join us and give him someone to talk with that is different to get him out of the norm. We met many new people, then stopped for lunch.
Sometimes in life, WE become the lifeline between the old ways and the present way of life for a friend or a family member who's nearing the end of their life. It is not a bad way I say this, but face it, we all, get there in time. Comes a time you, me, everyone, will need a hand. If you get the opportunity to help another, do it.
