The latest exhibition at the LdM Gallery is ‘Supper, sleep and sorrow’ by Sikelela Owen as part of the fifth edition of Black History Month Florence. The works were realised during the London-based painter’s time at the British School of Rome in 2019 and explore the themes of nourishment, repose and mourning as well as grappling with ideas of communality and faded histories.
