Super-ficial-man

Clark Sussex was happiest in a brain
A neurosurgeon of wealth and fame
He’d slice and prise with measured ease
Each convoluted fold and crease

His scalpel like a magic wand
He’d wield with skilled and steady hand
Vessels clipped and cysts removed
Never flustered nor confused

But by night, the theatre he would escape
He’d lose his mask and don his cape
He’d sit and watch the network news
And nod away as if it were true

With phone in hand, he’d scroll and scroll
Not taking in one single word
From saving mankind one by one
Transformed to Superficialman

He’d forget those prolapsed spinal discs
As he danced away to Taylor Swift
Is it all absurd, is it all a shame?
Yes indeed….
It’s Superficialman
