Christmas

Away in a manger
Escaping infanticide
Away from the danger
To where loving folk hide

Away in a manger
Beside the ox and ass
Away from the danger
Where all things must pass

Away in a manger
Three men from afar
Ignoring the danger
Following yonder star

Away in a manger
Gifting gold, scent and balm
Dispelling the danger
Dispensing peace and calm

Away in a manger
The message remains clear
To ward off danger
Keep your loved ones near

And welcome-in the wise and the awake
And pass-on to all the gifts that you take.
