Mari0 AE is a program in which you can upload a MapPack in order to play the game.
MapPacks are games the developers generate in order to recreate somewhat it should look like a SMB hack, but rather than being for the NES, they're for PC.
In the case of this video, I've played a MapPack called Super Mario Odyssey. It has only 6 levels, but it's still cool. Even though crescents aren't mandatory to collect, seeking them is so fun and satisfying.
Each level has its own powerup, all of them with different effects and attacks.
I believed that collecting the trapped moon in the last level was impossible until I remembered I can switch sides in vertical scrolling areas of the game.
It's such a wonderful fake NES SMB hack.
