My original walkthrough of SMB X-Over got removed due to copyright issues (or so I THINK, since even to this day I'm still not entirely sure what the original reason for the flagging was), so I had to make a new video to replace it. Even after so many years, it didn't get old and I really enjoyed playing it again : the concept is original and the game itself is well executed, perfectly emulating the 5 games featured here. The only complaint I have is that the controls can be a bit stiff at times, particularly when you need to jump in rapid succession, as the game doesn't always respond - you sometimes tap the jump key and nothing happens, which may lead to a death when you have to get out of the way fast. This seems to be more prominent when playing as Mario, as the other non-title characters handle really well, or at least as good as they did in their original games, since I haven't played Castlevania or Legend of Zelda for instance (yeah, I said it....sue me ! :)) ). Bottom line : this is an awesome game to try, especially if you're a fan of the "golden age" of the NES, when all these big games came out. Even if you're just a casual player, or you've never heard of some of these games before (just sayin'), you'll still enjoy this title and that's actually the whole beauty of it : that anybody can pick up and play it, even if you don't have previous experience in the featured games (or even in SMB for that matter) - the game is so intuitive and addicting that you should have no problem with it. Give it a shot ! Danny out !

Heres another game in the Softendo family: New Super Mario Forever. As you may have guessed from the title, its similar to New Super Mario Bros on the Wii, though I wouldnt call it a rip-off since it doesnt actually copy anything directly from the Wii game - it borrows the concept, enemies and powerups and reuses them in its own way to create something new. The overall concept is the same as Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES: same map format with 8 different worlds and 7 sons of Bowser you have to defeat, same enemies and even some levels look the same, so youll feel at home with this one. Graphically speaking, the game is decent, considering what it is, though the animations of Mario walking and jumping look a bit off and I noticed a lot of people making fun of this in the comments. Gameplay-wise, one thing I can say I dont like is how the screen takes too long to pan when you jump to the top - it freezes for about 1 second before it finally reorients. This could cost you a hit if you jump right into an enemy that you cant see - it should adjust instantly to keep Mario in the middle of the screen at all time. The music and sounds are very good as well: you get musical variety and the quality of the soundtracks is awesome. One thing they decided to change and I dont really appreciate is the sounds Mario makes when jumping (stuff like Ah ! Yeah ! HoUh !). Since its a platform game where you jump a lot, they tend to get irritating after a while and you cant turn them off - you have to turn off all other sound effects too. I would have much preferred the traditional jump sound effects of all the other games, or at least have an option to toggle the voice on and off, independent of the sound effects. Another thing that ruins what would otherwise be a great Mario fan game is the overwhelming amount of spelling and grammar errors - thought NES games were bad at this when they got ported from their japanese versions ? Well, look again: the word order is incorrect and many words are misspelled, making the messages incoherent and even confusing to read, especially in the early levels where youre given instructions on how to perform certain moves - I actually had to read a message twice before figuring out how to do the wall jump. Im aware the maker of the game is not a native English speaker, but couldnt he at least get someone to proof-read the game before releasing it to the public ? I kinda smell Google Translate here ! To be perfectly fair its not too much of a problem as far as playability is concerned, because its the gameplay that counts in Mario games and not so much the dialogues. If it were an RPG like Castlevania where you had to rely on clues and dialogues to progress, then yes, it would be a big issue indeed, but in an action-oriented game like this, we can let it slide. Other than that, theres no need to go into great detail about the game since its self explanatory - if you dont know how to play a Mario game then you shouldnt call yourself a gamer ! Aside from the F it gets in grammar, the game gets an overall A from Daniels Game Vault. Softendo pretty much did everything they could to recreate a Wii game on the PC, which is no easy task considering how complex it is, so for that I can only applaud them ! Well done ! A constant request Ive been getting is World 11 by Syzxchulun (the same guy who made Worlds 9 and 10 - you may want to check those out too), so here it is ! Theres no standalone version at the moment - it comes bundled with Mario Forever Remake, which is a collection of many other fan games created so far, like The Minus Worlds, The Letter Worlds, The Hardcore Worlds and Human Lab and a handful of others. This compilation belongs to TheMarioVariable, btw - definitely worth checking out if you want all these fan-made worlds, but dont feel like hunting them down one by one. So anyway, back to World 11: its not bad as far as the overall quality is concerned, but the word of the day is, once again, DIFFICULT, just like Syzxchuluns other worlds ! It has lots of enemies (especially hammer bros !), tricky jumps and even a maze in the castle. Youll obviously get your ass handed to you at first, but after a while, youll gain enough experience to finally beat it, just like I did, despite the lack of continues. It took a fuckin long time and many many many tries, but I finally got it ! For this reason, I ended up with a hard drive full of footage I wanted to share with you, so I threw it all in to give you a bit of a movie, with no cuts or edits (this also serves as a bit of behind the scenes). If you want to watch just the walkthrough, with just the successful runs, click the link above and it will take you there. Danny out ! Welcome to another lets fail video f*ck-fest where I try to beat the game you folks request, but fail miserably. This edition we have The Avoid World, which I think was meant to be Avoid THIS World, because HOLY FUCK this games hard ! Coming off Crists game (The Minus Worlds), this was like a rude awakening ! The game itself is somewhat OK, first levels arent too bad and there arent any major bugs that prevent progress, but the castle is where the shit hits the fan: the second half after the checkpoint is IMPOSSIBLE ! One good thing I have to say is that theres a 1-UP right next to the checkpoint, which allows you to continue forever, but other than that, youre on your own ! I swear to God I played that part for like 2 hours straight without making any progress, let alone make it to Bowser ! I kept dying over and over again and no matter how hard I tried, the hazards were just too many to AVOID (pun intended) ! I dont know how close to the end I actually got, because eventually my brain could take no more and I quit the game, and once I did that, there was no way I was playing the first 3 levels again, so this one was officially closed. Seriously: whats up with that castle man ? :| Cut me some slack ! There are some other issues as well, as expected of some fan-made games (like the inability to hit any of the coin boxes in level 2 and of course no continues - an old pet-peeve of mine), but none of those are as prominent as the difficulty of the castle itself ! Some of you will probably understand and agree with me, while others will be like UUUH...DANNY, ITS NOT THAT HARD MAN - I MANAGED TO BEAT IT ....yes, thank you, appreciate it - good for you buddy, but the fact remains that Im only human, alright ? When its too much, its too much ! Theres a common misconception going on around here: DGV is a fan-based show and Im expected to beat EVERY game you guys request. That is simply not true: just because I accept to play it for entertainment purposes, doesnt mean Im bound to complete it as well. I certainly do my best and try my hardest, yes, but if I cant do it than Im not gonna consume my sanity over it and you get a fail video. This ones almost complete too - you see most of the game and I get pretty close to beating it, so you cant really complain, can you ? With that little disclaimer out of the way, enjoy Danny getting his ass kicked. Happy Valentines...or whatever.....Danny out. The Lost Vikings on the DOS was one of the first full walkthroughs I ever did on DGV. Back then, I couldnt upload videos longer than 10 minutes, so I cut the walkthrough into individual levels. I now merged all those short videos into a single long one so its more convenient to watch without having to change videos every time. Enjoy ! I wasnt satisfied with the way my first walkthrough of AVGN Adventures turned out: it was a bit of a rush job, just to get it out there while the game was still fresh, so I decided to revisit it and give it a proper playthrough. The first thing I wanted to do was to unlock all the characters - last time I only found Kyle the guitar guy, so it was high time I showed where the rest of them are. There are 3 hidden characters: Kyle, Mike Matei and Bullshit Man. You can only unlock them in this order, because each of them is needed to unlock the next, so only Kyle can get to Mike and only Mike can get to BS Man. Kyle is hidden in Future Fuckballs, Mike in Dungeons and Dickholes and BS Man in Beat it and Eat it. I already talked about Kyle in my first video: hes a fast runner and his shots can pass through walls, which can be handy at times, but hes weak at jumping - never use him to jump platforms or gaps. Mike kicks ass on the other hand - one of the best characters aside from the AVGN himself: hes the highest jumper and he also has an awesome ability, called secret vision : when he approaches a wall and the wall turns green, it means Mike can destroy it with his light saber, granting you access to hidden areas (you actually have to use this technique to get to BS Man). This move only works when you have Mike selected, so even if you know where the breakable wall is, you cant take it down with another character. Another thing Mike can do is reveal hidden platforms - they appear when he gets close to them. These usually lead to hidden rooms or goodies. Just like with the hidden walls, even if you know the blocks are there, you cant jump on them unless you have Mike selected and they disappear once you switch to another character, so be careful not to do so when youre ON the platforms ! One last thing to say about Mike is that his light saber has a short range, so hes not that effective against bosses ! Finally theres Bullshit Man, whom you unlock last. Hes....unimpressive to say the least: he cant shoot straight up and his shots dont travel too far either. He can do a double jump by tapping the jump button while in mid air, but even so, he still doesnt match Mike in terms of height. I say only use him just for the novelty of shooting turds everywhere :)) Other than that theres nothing else I can say that I havent said already in the previous vid, so sit back and let Danny walk you through, or watch my first attempt if you want to :) AVGN Adventures Full Walkthrough REVISITED [HD]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/TQfiC4pDEik/mqdefault.jpg)
