After Mario's revisit to Bob-Omb Battlefield, he has decided to pay another visit to Cool, Cool Mountain. One of the Power Stars that he did not obtain in his previous visit was the 'Red Coin' star, but he also wants to try and acquire the '100 Coins' star if he can, too.
Mario only manages to collect one of the Power Stars that he did not manage to obtain before, but he confides in his confidence, and he goes back to Cool, Cool Mountain to try again. It seems now he has to find a lone snowman's head a new body. Mario had obtained all the blatant Power Stars of Cool, Cool Mountain at this point, so he has chosen to go back down to the basement's entries to try and find more new stars.
While in the basement, Mario comes across a mischievous rabbit that seems to be hiding something from him. Mario picks him up after chasing him about, and it appears that the rabbit had been carrying--you guessed it--another hidden Power Star!
Mario later goes to the upstairs level of the castle, and he has chosen to investigate Wet-Dry World to see if the place has more power stars or not. He does not happen to have much luck in obtaining a Power Star that is separated from him thanks to a wall-kick, so he keeps looking around. He eventually chooses to bypass the fence in the corner of Wet-Dry World, and decides to go see what might exist down in the subterranean town.
