Ine-san, the Hazuki residence's housekeeper, is worried about both of their levels of euphoria as of now, because Ryo is still in pain, and she is still depressed. Despite their pain, however, Ryo has promised Ine-san that he will avenge his father's death and go after Lan Di no matter what it takes. Ryo's first step is to go around Yamanose, Sakuragaoka, and Dobuita and ask the neighbors what they know regarding the black car that speeded away from the Hazuki residence.
While interrogating the neighbors, Ryo meets Megumi, and she has found a stray kitten whose mother was run over by a black car the same day Ryo's father was executed. Ryo and Megumi have agreed to take care of the kitten as much as they can by feeding it, keeping it warm, etc.
