Welcome everyone to my 100% walkthrough for Super Mario 3D Land on the 3DS! In this walkthrough, we will be collecting every star coin and hitting the top of every flag pole with both characters! This fun game switched up the formula by combining 3D Mario exploration with 2D Mario levels for a fun, unique Mario game. Please keep in mind that many levels require star coins to unlock with several requiring more star coins than is available in the game. You can find extras in Mystery Houses if you need more. They regenerate over time and you can also Streetpass with other players to get more.
In this part, we tackle the eighth and final special world of the game, which is unlocked after beating the game. This world mirrors World 8 but is slightly harder with more difficult challenges. Keep in mind that you have to get a ton of star coins to unlock these levels as each needs 10 more than the previous to unlock. Just like normal world 8 though this still isn't the final challenge. Once you collect all the star coins, have all golden flagpoles (touch the top of every level's flagpole) and beat every level (regular and special) with both Mario and Luigi, you'll unlock the final challenge!
