The occasional truck exposed our secret mission but otherwise we moved alone, kicking up sand and whispers, creeping softly as if not to disturb the overwhelming stillness. The energy in our bodies rose like the light, first a dull, sleepy gray, then a buzzing blue, until eventually we awoke in tandem with a wide-eyed yellow.
Paracosm (out now on SubPop Records) is the absolute perfect title for this album—birds cooing, delighted vocals, and effervescent synths illustrate an idyllic summer escape. It's the month you spent at your Grandfather's cabin; hours skipping through the sprinkler; walks through lush, green woods; grasshoppers chirping in the tall grass.
