On the afternoon of June 15, 2021, five‑year‑old Summer Moon‑Utah Wells was last seen at her family’s home in the remote Appalachian terrain of Beech Creek, Hawkins County, Tennessee. She had spent the day with her mother, Candus Bly, and grandmother, planting flowers near a camper on the property. According to her mother, Summer went inside to play in the basement — and within minutes, she was gone.
The disappearance triggered one of the largest search operations in Tennessee history. Hundreds of volunteers, helicopters, drones, K‑9 units, and dive teams combed the steep, wooded landscape surrounding the Wells property. Despite exhaustive efforts, no confirmed evidence — no clothing, no footprints, no signs of a struggle — was ever found.
