Elena Moore was last seen leaving a Planet Fitness in Lexington, South Carolina on June 11, 2026, and her body was found in a nearby wooded area on June 17, 2026; a preliminary autopsy found no evidence of traumatic injury and the official cause of death remains pending while toxicology and other studies are completed.
Moore was reported missing on June 12. Investigators later released surveillance images showing her walking through the Publix parking lot at 100 Old Cherokee Road on June 11 around 9:17 p.m., which became the last known sighting.
Her body was discovered last Wednesday, June 17, in a wooded area in the 400 block of Old Cherokee Road after police received a tip. The Lexington County Coroner's Office later confirmed the body was Moore.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating the death at the request of the Lexington Police Department.
