7/27/2025 - 7/28/2025 Henry W. Coe State Park - Bass Pond - China Hole - Lost Spring
Finding more time to go on overnight backpacking trips.
I thought I caught a trout over at China Hole but found out later it was actually a Sacramento Pikeminnow. Since I mention 'trout' quite a bit in the footage, I got some help from @outsidewithmike for some killer voice acting. Like an AI voice over fix, but not 😂
It came out hilarious so I used him as like the backseat fisherman / devil on the shoulder I can't hear.
The trip was nice. I got lot of hiking in but ended up with a sore left ankle. Tried to modify my hiking gait.
Feels good to have my fastpacking and lighter weight backpacking loadout dialed in. With the new sleeping pad arriving soon, it may be reaching borderline ultralight. I'll probably end up packing more luxury items before that happens though.
Took advantage of the Civivi Banter Banter 2 TG's tweezers to remove a tiny thorn. Also used it to carve up some small stakes / pegs to keep my ground sheet from sliding around. Great little knife that disappears in the pocket.
It was fun to catch some nice Bluegill at Bass Pond with the Tenkara rod.
