Something a bit different but all too familiar to me. I went to my temple's annual Obon Festival. It's a Summer Buddhist festival hosted by temples across California and beyond to celebrate the dead. Here's some footage of the Taiko drumming and dancing at the end. It's always great to see family and friends.
This week Watsonville and Mountain View were hosting. It's basically the big fund raiser for the year. Food, games, raffle, Taiko drumming, and dancing are all part of the fun. For the last dance, 'Tanko Bushi', everyone is welcome to join in!
Next week Salinas Buddhist Temple will be hosting their Obon Festival on July 28th. Be sure to check it out!
I shot this on my friend's Panasonic GX85 micro 4/3 camera. I haven't been into photography in a while since my Olympus OMD EM5 is 12 years old now. It's nice to play around with my old prime lenses.
Most of the footage was shot on the Olympus 45mm f/1.8 prime lens.
Thanks for watching!
