Summer 2021 Channel Update - Scaling back for LNT reasons
At Backpacker Diaries I've shared many lesser-known locations over the years in the hope that promoting these areas would take pressure off of more heavily visited National Parks etc. In retrospect, this philosophy may cause more damage than benefit.

I enjoy contributing to the brain trust of an online trail community that I've certainly benefitted from myself. In that respect, the trip report videos at Backpacker Diaries are not so much about "look at me" and more about "check out this cool place I went and here's what to consider if you want to go". This is all the more reason for me to scale back on the trip reports I publish here as not naming the location also removes some of the value I'd want to provide.
