Whew. More work than I thought it would be, but finally got it all set up. I still need to test timing to make sure it plays identically to the original, but either way I'm very happy to be able to play on a more complete version of the game.
For the unaware, the US release of Suikoden II was botched in finalization, which led to several tracks of audio being rendered unplayable despite being on the disc. There are "fixed" versions that point to the right locations for the audio to play, however. The track in the War Battle in the video was one track that was unplayable in the original release.

Still not a great run. One unintentional death, and some other sloppy play. However, this is my first two-cycle Spider, which I wasn't sure was even going to be possible. This was unexpected. Managed to get through everything without a death on Insane difficulty. No idea what that maps to according to the original DIPs, but its at least 6. Pretty good run. Still about 8-10 seconds to clean up from mistakes, and another 5-6 that could come from luck. As far as my goals, this is borderline what I wanted.

Not too much to say here - its mostly an autoscroller. You can speed up some of the early sections by hitting the switches early. In the final section, I am not sure if it is faster to kill the laser bots quick or not; I try to kill them early when possible anyway.")

Realized that I didnt save the stream archive of this run, so I figured I could at least upload the local copy. The run uses a lot of new strats and things, but I didnt get great luck nor was I technically up-to-snuff. Should be able to hit sub-6 with this route and a few more tweaks.
In any case, more runs when Im better practiced.")
