James McDonald, also known as “Mob James,” testified about his role as Marion “Suge” Knight’s head of security at Club 662 and his relationship with Knight. McDonald also described the gang rivalries surrounding Death Row Records in the 1990s before recounting how he learned that Knight and rapper Tupac Shakur had been shot in a drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996. His testimony was presented in the murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, who is charged in connection with Tupac’s killing.
