How we lifted project off-road granny with long travel the right way, for cheap. A lift that allows longer travel will prevent you from destroying axles and differentials, and can increase off-road capability a LOT when combined with long-travel coil-overs (check video end-link to see how we built those).

Project off-road granny is a 1998 SF Forester. Parts for this long travel rear setup were dirt cheap. Just grab a set of adjustable trailing arms off amazon and a big block of HDPE and you'll be set.
