Supplies
Tempera or Acrylic Paint
Plate or Pallet for Paint
A Few sheets of white Paper cut into 1/ sheet
Brayer or Large foam brush
Foam Sheets or Foam plates cut into squares
Pencil
Steps
1. Practice drawing what you want to print. I will draw a moon cat you can draw it with me or draw your own.
2. Draw you design into the foam sheet with your pencil, make sure you press hard enough that it presses into the foam, but not hard enough to break through it.
3. Add your paint to a plate
4. Smooth it out with a brayer or foam brush
5. Use the brayer to add paint to your foam plate or use the large foam brush (the foam brush worked better for me)
6. Place the foam plate face down onto your paper, or place your paper onto the foam plate and lightly press it then remove.
7. Your print is ready! Set it somewhere to dry
8. Make 3-4 prints
Adaptions
For younger students you may have to add the paint to the foam plate
Extensions
Create a gallery - Make 4-5 Different prints and display them on a wall
Make prints for all the letters of your name
Try to make 2 prints that look the exact same
Create crayon rubbings using the styrofoam plates. (Wash and dry them first)

Make another print. Add a border or frame. You can draw things from nature, animals, your best friend. etc. Add texture using hatching or cross hatching. Another option is to make cards using your styrofoam prints and give them to friends and neighbors.
