to get this achievement you need to hold 350 pieces of gold and get the true ending (lover + kill the demon)
there are 360 pieces of gold in the game so that leaves you with 10 to buy the boots. you can't spend gold on any other item or npc. technically you could do it without boots, but that would require an insane amount of mana and familiarity to pull off.
you'll need to kill every critter, beast and rat, as well as the 4 hat villagers for parts to sell, the assassin, the old man, fisherman and drunk guards are the only other npcs that drop gold so they must be killed too. the 4 villagers must be talked to for a piece of gold 7 times each before killing
I believe you can only ever get 5 max gold for selling rats so they must be sold in groups of 5 or less. you can only hold one gate key at a time so you have to sell them separately as well. there are a couple easy to miss critters near the kings body in the north of the map. lastly you have to sell 8 carrots to the shop, which is worth more than to the fisherman
