Caregiving, whether it is for children, older adults, or ailing family members, often blends love, duty, burden, and reward. While caregivers are pillars of a good society and a strong economy, they often lack the systemic support needed to stay healthy and financially secure themselves. Investing in family leave policies, wage subsidies, and tax credits could transform the lives of both paid and unpaid caregivers, most of whom are women. By acknowledging our collective responsibility to these workers, we all stand to gain.
