This video is a recording of the speakers and panelists from the first day of REL Appalachia’s Strengthening School Supports for Kinship Caregivers and Grandfamilies Summit, held on February 25, 2026. This session includes opening remarks from Sue Burton (a grandparent caregiver), and presentations by Ana Beltran from the Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network: National Technical Assistance Center and Brooke Gill from the Pritchard Committee. It also includes a panel discussion with state department of education representatives, focused on how family engagement is a priority in the Appalachian region.
