This video of Street Fighter Alpha 2 Gold has been requested by @ShaneDouglas713 and his request was a CPU Vs CPU with Rolento Vs Sodom on Rolento’s Stage in a First to 3 (FT3) setting. Also give another shoutout to my man Shane as its his Birthday Request as well ;) Rolento was always been a interesting character since hithe release of Alpha 2 and while initially regarded as a solid upper mid tier character, he would go all the way to broken tier status in the most recent times as people started to learn the more hidden intricacies about Alpha 2 like the loser being granted a +1 damage to every single in their arsenal for the round which goes really well with his Patriot Circle, to his entire toolkit making it easy to bilt meter and unleash his Custom Combo where its both pathetically easy to land while also doing insane damage often times killing the opponent from full health, basically a TOD. Sodom on the other hand was initially thought to be a more agile Zangief where he could do more things than just trying to get in and go for a Command Throw thanks to his moves involving his Sais which can combo into really heavy damage. As time went on and people discovered things like “Magic Throws” which is something used in Street Fighter 2 since the beginning was possible in Alpha 2, Zangief actually surpassed Sodom in viability while people noticed that Sodom was much worse in general. In a CPU standpoint, Rolento plays a Hit and Run strategy almost similar to Claw on SF2s as he is constantly rolling or wall jumping but doesn’t like to block very much. Sodom is either 8 or 80 depending on the distance basically as he is predictable against Fireballs but his CPU becomes really nasty with -1 Frame reaction once up close and better yet if the opponent is cornered so this fight has 2 completely opposite styles going for it. Keep in mind that the CPU never goes for Custom Combos and even if they did, CC was nerfed heavily in Alpha 2 Gold which means Rolento can even come close to even doing 50% damage let alone TOD anymore so the game is different and Level 3 supers will surpass CC damage overall.
