Stray is not just a game for cat lovers, it's for everyone — and I am a dog person. And yet here I am, genuinely moved by a game where you play as an orange tabby cat named — by me, not the developers — Snake.
Stray by Blue 12 Studio drops you into a silent cyberpunk city full of robots, mysteries, and the kind of atmosphere most big-budget games spend hundreds of millions of dollars trying to manufacture. No combat at the start. No weapons. Just a cat, a drone named B12, and a city that doesn't know you're coming.
The ending hits harder than Old Yeller. That's all I'll say.
So… is Stray the best cat game & robot apocalypse game ever made?
I guess you'll have to watch the video to find out!
This is a fully rebuilt Game Closet review — new host segments, tighter edit, better everything. The original version didn't do this game justice. This one does.
No real spoilers. No cats were harmed. A few baby seals got in the way but that's a whole other story.
🚫 A.I. was not used in the writing, performing, or editing of this video. Written, performed, and edited (in Final Cut Pro X on a Mac mini M4) by an actual human who is very tired.
