Welcome back! Today we’re reviewing The Common Trilogy, by Australian Author Jeremy Szal! This is an epic space opera about a super solider who has just come back from fighting a great war. But instead of a hero’s welcome, he finds a society that rejects him. Now he lives in the underbelly, fighting off his addiction to his super soldier serum.

This is a deep, character driven story, about grief, trauma, veterans and drug abuse. It’s a genuinely emotional story that was very well-handled. There is still plenty of sci-fi worldbuilding and some big action scenes. But this is primarily a character story.
