Here is a question, what if Willis O'Brien made a stop-motion short subject based on Mary Shelly's novel, "Frankenstein"? This animated short, shot on 8 mm by Tom Triman, is awesome. It won an award and got mentioned in the final issue of CINEMAGIC MAGAZINE in 1987 (issue 37). He was a writer for such magazines as SCARY MONSTERS. He also made a stop-motion gangster drama inspired by those Warner Bros. gangster films called YOU DIRTY RAT (1982). The film was shot on Super 8 and was 52 minutes long. It was released on VHS from the Canyon Cinema Cooperative, with production credited to Super 8 Sound, Inc. and the National Film Board of Canada. Sadly, he died in 2010.
