The problem is that most guys are completely wasting their fragrance by spraying it in all the wrong places. Today, I want to discuss the biggest mistakes men make and explain why subtle, strategic fragrance application is way sexier than drowning yourself in cologne. Smelling amazing is about creating a subtle scent experience—not punching people in the face with fragrance. The three places I personally recommend spraying fragrance: both sides of the neck and the chest. That keeps the scent close to people’s noses without being overpowering. Dry skin ruins fragrance performance, so apply a little Vaseline to pulse points before spraying so the fragrance lasts longer and projects better throughout the day. At the end of the day, I believe scent is one of the most primal and powerful parts of a man’s presence—and when you smell incredible, people remember you. Here are the places to NEVER spray with cologne:
Wrists - First, never spray fragrance on your wrists because it’s too far away from where people actually smell you.
Metal jewelry (watches, chains, necklaces, pendants) - Don't spray it on metal jewelry, watches, chains, or pendants because the alcohol can damage the finish and dull the shine over time.
Down your pants / “the old drawers” - Never to spray fragrance down your pants or on your feet because when fragrance mixes with sweat, bacteria, and natural body odor, it becomes a nasty disaster instead of something sexy.
Hair and hair brush - Spraying fragrance in your hair or behind your neck isn’t the best move. The alcohol can dry out your hair and make it brittle.
Behind the neck - Spraying behind the neck doesn’t really help with projection, the way people think it does.
