Most of what makes meditation hard is the trying. Trying to stop thoughts. Trying to stay focussed. Trying to get somewhere.
The great teachers said it simply. Buddha, after six years of extreme practices, arrived at something almost embarrassingly simple: stop clinging. But teachings get absorbed by the cultures they land in. Bits get lost. Bits get added. Dogma accumulates. What began as a simple realization becomes a temple — and then an identity we defend. No wonder it feels like work.
This talk is an invitation to leave the temple and return to the simplicity of being.
