There's no blame for the crisis we are in. Any intelligent technological species has the potential to become a magnificent flowering of consciousness, but the side effects of its rapid evolution mean that it only has a short window of time to complete it's evolutionary journey. Facing the end of our species could in itself be the wake-up call we need.
