Long-distance travel is where a lot of campaigns turn into a montage: “you walk for three weeks” and then… you arrive. In this video I show how to run long-range wilderness travel the same way old-school games run dungeons: with procedure, pressure, and consequences.

Instead of prepping hundreds of hexes, break the journey into legs (road, foothills, border marches, badlands). Each leg gets a simple risk profile, a trouble check schedule (your regular “does the trip throw something at us today?” roll), resource drain, and one wrinkle that makes the region feel different. Then you run a quick daily loop: weather → navigation → trouble check → drain → camp, and use a danger clock to track mounting heat when the party pushes their luck.

If you run B/X, OSE, Swords & Wizardry, AD&D, or any OSR-style sandbox, this will make travel feel like play again—without turning your table into homework.

Chapters / Topics:
Legs vs hexes (prep that fits on an index card)
Trouble checks vs danger clocks (what’s the difference?)
The daily travel loop (fast, repeatable, table-friendly)
Encounters as problems, not constant fights
Making weeks and months matter with the campaign clock

Thank you, and God bless.
