Coach Larry drops a point here that I think gets overlooked at every level of coaching: we've taught defense with anger, disgust, and ego for a hundred years, and it's time to retire that approach.⁣

A defender's job isn't just steals and blocks. It's making the offense abandon their plan. If a kid forces a contested floater instead of the layup they wanted, that's a win, even if it goes in.⁣

Change the terminology, change the mindset. Praise kids for being great decision changers, not just shot blockers. That's how you get real buy in on the defensive end. #shorts
