In this episode of Adventures Into History, we uncover the ruins of an old homesite in Talbot County, Georgia. All that remains of the house is its stone chimney, rising out of the woods like a monument to the past.

The ground surrounding the ruins is scattered with artifacts—glass, pottery, iron, and household items left behind by generations. These fragments tell the story of a home likely built between 1826 and the 1860s and lived in until at least the 1960s.

What was once “trash” has become archaeology, each object helping us piece together the daily lives of the people who lived here. Though the walls are gone and the house is silent, the ruins and artifacts keep its story alive.
