In this episode, we uncover one of the most powerful stories we've ever told on Adventures Into History—the legacy of Revolutionary War veteran John Milner, and the heartbreaking truth about his lost grave.
Roughly 30 years ago, John Milner’s headstone vanished. Rumors swirled: it had been thrown in a creek, left in a car trunk, possibly lost forever. Until one day, a simple post—“Have you seen this headstone?”—led to a miraculous recovery.
Now, for the first time in decades, the headstone is back where it belongs. In this video, we’re joined by John Milner’s descendants, Joel Milner and Joy, to visit the restored stone—pieced back together and placed in the Milner Family Cemetery.
But the story doesn’t end there.
We also travel to where we believe John Milner’s true burial site once stood. That cemetery is now destroyed. Buried beneath dirt. Trampled by time. No stones, no fence, no protection. Only memories and heartbreak.
This video is a tribute to a Patriot, a family’s deep roots, and the fight to keep forgotten history alive. Along the way, we discuss:
