Yes, you CAN stitch out designs larger than a 5x7 inch hoop on the Brother PE900 using a repositionable 5x12 inch hoop and Embrilliance Essentials embroidery software - which has the Multi-Position Hooping feature. This hoop has extra pegs allowing you to reposition the hoop in the embroidery module and expand the embroidery area without rehooping.
